What are 5 seconds exactly?

The New York Times reports, “consider that in one second a cheetah can dash 34 yards, a telephone signal can travel 100,000 miles, a hummingbird can beat its wings 70 times and 8 million of your blood cells can die."

That's in one second! Think about 5 seconds!

5 Seconds is the amount of time it takes a human being to think of an idea, resolve its own mental validity and to affirm it. In other words, it's the amount of time it will take to think of something, come up with a reason, valid or not and to internally say ok. Whether for the right reasons or not, is immaterial at this time. A thought has happened, it has been validated (internally) and emotions have been set into motion. 5 seconds.

So what if we have the proper information, with the correct validation; would we not be able to make a better decision that will set us off in the right direction that much faster?
